Taxability of Sum received from tenant for not letting out vacant units - Kalani Gattani & Co.

22nd April 2020by prakhar0

Where assessee let out two units of its property and, further, entered into an option agreement with the tenant with a covenant that other two units of the property would not be let out to the third party without the consent of the tenant for a period of 9 months and received compensation for same, such amount received by the assessee was assessable as income from other sources and not as income from house property.
